North Tynemouth
Your Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) is a group of local police officers dedicated to serving your community. The team is made up of officers, staff and PCSOs based in your area. These are supported by additional officers from the wider area and other departments.
We work closely with local authorities, community leaders and residents to decide our policing priorities for the area. This helps us to find useful, long-term solutions to local problems, while maintaining our wider focus on reducing crime across Northumbria.
Area Commander C/Supt Sam Rennison
'As Northern area commander, I'm proud to be the senior officer in charge of policing delivery in such a diverse area. Our communities range from urban areas through to remote rural settings where officers, staff and volunteers are committed to engaging with all. By working closely in these communities with the public and partners, officers and staff can understand what the issues are that need tackling and also work to prevent them occurring. In doing so ensuring we are protecting the vulnerable, deliver quality investigations and providing an outstanding service. By signing up to Northumbria Connected you are helping to problem solve issues, and we can keep you updated and engaged with in an innovative, quick and easy way.'
