Motorcycle ASB - Eye In The Sky

On Wednesday 18th December 2024, Northumbria Police Op Capio Northern - Motorcycle Disorder Team conducted an operation in a motorcycle cycle hotspot, Newbiggin-By-The-Sea.

This operation resulted in the seizure of two motorcycles.

The team deployed a drone to follow the unknowing offenders on their bikes around Newbiggin, before locating and seizing the bikes. Through the drone footage, officers were able to observe the riders behaving in a dangerous and reckless manner, showing no regard to the safety of themselves or other members of the public. They were riding at high speeds on the pavements including those near primary schools and children’s play parks.

This kind of behaviour is not acceptable. Both the Police and local community have a shared responsibility in tackling this problem together and stop a tragic accident from happening.

Please report those who you know are riding or using motorcycles illegally and anti-socially, as well as any information you have as to where these bikes are being stored. In doing this we can tackle this community priority together and achieve some positive outcomes.

Many Thanks.
