Tackling Motorcycle Disorder

Officers from the Bedlington Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) have been out on patrol conducting letter drops in the vicinity of Choppington Woods and the Ford Park estate in Stakeford in response to concerns expressed by local residents of motorcycle disorder.

Due to information passed to us from a concerned resident, we have recently identified two persons involved in motorcycle disorder in the Sheepwash area. They have been issued with a Sec. 59 warning each, compelling them to cease riding motorcycles in a disorderly manner or risk their bikes being seized by Police.

Information from the public is vital in our efforts to tackle motorcycle-related disorder and we work in collaboration with Op Capio, our team dedicated to tackling motorcycle disorder across South East Northumberland.

If you have any information regarding motorcycles being ridden on roads and in public places in an anti-social manner in your area, please contact the team via email at bedlington.npt@northumbria.police.uk.

You can also complete a web submission via the force website at www.northumbria.police.uk

Alternatively, if you live in the Guide Post, Choppington, Scotland Gate, Stakeford, Cambois or Sleekburn areas, contact PCSO 6763 James Elliott via 07736462664 and he will respond as soon as practicable.

Thank you for your support,

Sgt Steve Cook
