Two men have been charged and remanded in custody following the execution of a drugs warrant in Morpeth. 

Officers from Morpeth's Neighbourhood and Response teams were assisted by the Force's Serious Violence Disruption Unit to undertake an operation at Riverside Lodge, High Stanners on the morning of Wednesday 9th October 2024.

Police forced entry to the former entertainment venue where a complex industrial Cannabis Farm was located. Plants valued in the region of £1 million pound were discovered across numerous rooms within. Two males were arrested at the scene and later charged with offences relating to production of the drug.

Officers remain at the premises due to the challenges presented in clearing the building.
