Officers have conducted another project shield patrol on the 13th of July 2024. These patrols have taken place in two hotspot areas in Gateshead both identified for high levels of anti-social behaviour and drug use. Businesses, security services and the public were engaging and informative with officers while on patrol. These patrols are not only an effective way to deter crime in these areas, but they also give officers an opportunity to speak to members of the community, hear your views and address the issues that are most important to you.
