Northumbria Police have received numerous reports of door to door sellers in the rural Villages, who are claiming to have recently been released from Prison.

The males have been a mixture of polite and aggressive to home owners, where two males were stop / checked in the Longframlington and Swarland areas on the 15/07/24. Both males at the time checked to have been in order.

Today similar reports from Haydon Bridge and Haltwhistle were received, where the two groups are believed to be linked and the reports remain as suspicious activity.

I would like to reassure you that we take these reports seriously, and endeavour to identify those involved.

If you experience, witness or are suspicious of cold callers - you should report this to Police as soon as possible - do not delay or assume that someone else will report it.
