Alnwick Neighbourhood Team - Motorbike ASB update

Good afternoon,

As a result of concerns raised by the community in relation to Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) by youths using Motorbikes in Alnwick over recent weeks, work has been ongoing to identify and target those involved.

Last night (06/07/24) responding to these concerns, Alnwick Neighbourhood Team stopped and seized two Scooters in the Town Centre who have been involved in the ASB.

Work is ongoing to identify a third male on an electric Surron style Motorbike, where if identified the Motorbike will be seized and rider prosecuted.

Use of electric Surron style Motorbikes appear to be popular, however are illegal unless road registered and insured, the same as any other vehicle using the road.

Off road motorbikes like any other vehicle on the road should NOT be using any footpaths or open areas / recreational playing fields.

If you know of someone using a petrol / electric scooter / Motorbike on the road which is not road registered or insured - we would love to know about them, and the address they're using to store the Motorbikes at.

We will act on information we receive with partners (including Housing) to improve the quality of life in our communities.

Reporting of suspicious activity and incidents to Police, can be reported via 101 (in a non-emergency), 999 (in an emergency) or online via Report | Northumbria Police alternatively online to CrimeStoppers via Giving information anonymously | Crimestoppers (crimestoppers-uk.org)
