Update from December 2023.

Investigation into a spate of thefts involving a Ford Ranger was lead by Alnwick Neighbourhood Team (NPT) where the offenders targeted high value items of Plant Equipment, which occurred in Rothbury, Wooler and Alnwick.

Intelligence shared with colleagues across Northumbria and Durham lead to the Ford Ranger being identified and uplifted in early January 2024.

This was a very complex piece of work which was supported by the Intelligence Unit, Operations Department and the National Rural Crime Team (NCATT), which lead onto £100,000 of suspected stolen equipment being recovered.

This was assisted by prompt reporting of suspicious activity and incidents by the Public to Police, this can be reported via 101 or Report | Northumbria Police or alternatively Giving information anonymously | Crimestoppers (crimestoppers-uk.org)
